What is webp to png?
WebP is a great web image format, but it doesn’t open everywhere. This converter turns one or many WebP files into PNGs entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device. Drop a folder of WebPs, click Convert all, and you get a single ZIP with every PNG.
When to use a webp to png
- Send images to clients on older software — Some Office, Photoshop, and email clients still don't accept WebP. Converting to PNG keeps every pixel and works everywhere.
- Prep assets for design hand-off — Designers and developers often need PNGs for spec sheets, mockup decks, or asset libraries that don't index WebP.
- Save WebP downloads from the web — Right-click → save on most sites now produces a .webp file. Convert to PNG to keep it usable across the rest of your tools.
How to use the WebP to PNG Converter
- Drop your WebP files — Drag a folder of .webp files onto the drop zone, or click to pick them from a file dialog.
- Click Convert all — Each file is decoded and re-encoded as PNG, one at a time. Progress shows in the file list.
- Download the ZIP — When the batch finishes, the Download button appears. You get one ZIP containing every PNG.

Is this private?
Yes — conversion runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
What's the maximum file size?
25 MB per file, 100 files per batch. Larger files can be resized first in any photo app.
Will my PNGs be larger than the original WebPs?
Usually yes. WebP uses lossy or lossless compression that's typically tighter than PNG. The pixels are identical; only the storage format differs.
Does it preserve transparency?
Yes. The alpha channel stored in the WebP file is preserved in the PNG output. Note that lossy WebP may have already approximated the original alpha before you converted.
Why convert away from WebP?
WebP is widely supported in browsers but lags in older photo editors, print shops, document templates, and email clients. PNG is the universal fallback.
Can I convert animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted. Animated PNG (APNG) output isn't supported in v1.
What if some of my files are rejected?
Files that aren't valid WebP, or that exceed 25 MB, are listed in a banner. Valid files in the same batch still convert.
