Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SomeTools collects when you visit sometools.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've kept it as plain as we can.
1. Who we are
The data controller for this site is Sometools LLC, registered in Wyoming, USA.
Sometools LLC1621 Central Ave
Cheyenne, WY 82001
USA
[email protected]
2. What we collect
- Anonymous page-view analytics via Umami. Cookieless. We see aggregate counts of which pages are loaded; we do not store IP addresses, fingerprints, or any identifier that can be linked back to you.
- Advertising data — tool pages only, after consent. When you visit a tool page (e.g.
/base64-encoder/), Google AdSense may set cookies and process device/browser identifiers to serve ads. In regions where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and others), this happens only after you accept via our consent banner. - Email correspondence. If you write to [email protected], we keep your message and any reply we send.
3. Lawful basis (GDPR Art. 6)
- Cookieless analytics: legitimate interests in understanding aggregate usage of the site.
- Advertising cookies: your consent, given via our consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 9).
- Email correspondence: legitimate interests in replying to you.
4. How long we keep it
- Umami analytics: kept indefinitely in aggregated, anonymized form.
- Advertising data: governed by Google's retention rules; see Google's Privacy Policy.
- Emails: kept until they're no longer relevant to the conversation.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with Google (AdSense and Funding Choices) on tool pages, and only with your consent in regions where consent is required. We do not sell personal information. We do not share data with any other third parties.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Have inaccurate data corrected;
- Have your data erased;
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Because we don't store account data or persistent identifiers tied to you, most access/erasure requests will resolve as "we don't have personal data on you" — but we'll confirm in writing.
7. Children's privacy
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. California, Virginia, Texas, and Colorado residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and similar laws in Virginia, Texas, Colorado, and other US states, you have rights similar to those described in section 6: to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Some advertising activity on tool pages may qualify as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out by rejecting consent in our banner. Contact [email protected] with state-law requests.
9. Cookies
The site itself does not set any cookies. Specifically:
- Strictly necessary cookies: none.
- Analytics cookies: none — Umami runs without cookies.
- Advertising cookies (tool pages only, after consent): Google AdSense and Funding Choices may set cookies including
__gads,__gpi,IDE, andNID, plus session identifiers used for frequency capping and personalization. Full disclosure at Google's cookie types page.
To withdraw or change consent: on any tool page, your browser-stored consent choice can be reset by clearing site data for sometools.com, or by re-triggering the consent dialog from Google's privacy controls. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's settings — note that this may make the ad experience less useful but won't break the tools themselves.
10. International transfers
Data processed by Google (on tool pages) may be transferred to the United States and other countries. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers; see Google's privacy policy for details.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the home page or via a banner. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact
